WHY SPAY & NEUTER?

Spayed pets live an average of 2 - 3 years longer than pets that are not.

Animals that aren't sterilized are more likely to stray from home looking for a mate, increasing the chances of getting hit by cars, attacked by other animals, petnapped, etc.

Thousands of animals die each year at animal shelters and on the city streets.  If your pet is having puppies or kittens they are adding to the number of animals that die - even if you find them all nice homes, you are still taking a good home away from an animal that may have otherwise been adopted at the shelter.

Pets tend to have less aggression and behavioral issues (such as spraying urine) after being surgically sterilized.  According to studies, approximately 80% of animal bites are from intact animals.

Females spayed before their first heat are 99% less likely to develop breast cancer later in life, males are much less likely to develop prostate cancer.  Spaying at any age completely eliminates risk of uterine or ovarian cancer, or infected uterus (pyometra).

Having a purebred Pitbull, Chihuahua, etc. doesn't mean you can make money breeding them.  Even if all of the puppies live (which often times, they don't), approximately 25% of homeless dogs sitting in the shelter waiting to be adopted or killed are purebed.
